What is a DI Bypass? A Fast Flush? RO Only Valve?

THE FAST FLUSH: Sometimes customers ask for a back flush valve. The fast flush should extend the life of the membrane. By Letting you give the membrane a good rinse anytime you want.

THE DI BYPASS: This is a real plus. It allows you to waste the first water produced by your system. When you first start any RO system the water quality is not up to snuff. By opening this valve and wasting that water to drain you will extend your DI Cartridge life.

All of our machines come with an automatic shut-off valve. This valve when used with a float valve in your storage tank makes your water production totally automatic. The automatic shut-off valve will stop the flow of water to the system when the float valve closes. AKA known as the automatic top off valve.

The 75 gallon per day membrane is rated to reject about 96-98% of the TDS. That difference changes the amount of work the DI has to do. The non rejected TDS is mopped up by the DI, so with less mopping up to do, the longer the DI lasts. The 75 GPD membrane is sent by default unless you request a 100 GPD (no additional charge).

OUR MEMBRANES ARE ALWAYS FACTORY FRESH

We use only FilmTec (TFC) membranes. We have used them exclusively since 1990. The membrane is what makes your system an RO We offer only the number one membrane in the world. We buy the FilmTec membrane directly from FilmTec so they are fresh!

"Plug and play" Push-in fitting. Just cut your tubing to length and push in, you are done. No wrenches No Teflon tape, No pipe dope, No glue. FAST /EASY.

We recommend a 10 micron sediment, 5 micron acid washed genuine Gem carbon block and 1 acid washed genuine Gem carbon block. Your unit will come with this array unless you request a change. Click here to see why.

All filters are standard size, available from us or most LFS or hardware store.

Stages

1) Heavy duty Poly Pro depth sediment filter.

2) Super capacity acid washed coconut carbon block filter removes up to 99 % of the chemicals in your water. Made from roasted coconut husk not coal !

3) Another super capacity carbon block to insure complete chemical removal.

A big help with chloramines. All four stage units are not adequate and obsolete when it comes to chloramines.

4) The world's best membrane a FilmTec 75 or 100 GPD (Thin Film Composite) membrane from Dow Chemical Company. FilmTec provides a three year warranty on the membrane. Membranes are rated at a certain standard. That standard makes it easy to compare membranes. The FilmTec standard is 50 psi water pressure and 77 degree water.

(Beware of membranes that use 65 psi as their pressure standard. You are getting only about 80 % of what a FilmTec membrane will provide.)

5) A full size high capacity vertical color changing DI cartridge. If you are an average user, (less than 10 gallons per day) expect to use your pre-filters for one year.

How do you know if your RO DI is working?Three things make up the performance of any RO system

#1 Water pressure. Reverse osmosis is a totally pressure dependant process. Higher pressure more output limit 75 psi. Lower pressure = lower output limit on the low side 35 psi.

#2 Water temperature. What temperature is your tap water? You need digital thermometer. Water higher than 77 degrees F = more water, lower temperatures = less water.

#3 Your total dissolved solids. You need to know the TDS produced by the DI, the TDS of the membrane output, the tap water, and the drain water. A TDS meter is the only tool for testing RO systems.
